Villa pool terrace in Kefalonia
Learned the hard way

We filled a pool for the season, then found one small piece of the main drain grate was missing. Tour operators treat that as a safety hazard, and they are right to. We had to drain the whole pool and fill it again. Check the grate while the pool is empty and you can reach it.

I run holiday villas in Kefalonia, Greece. This is what I actually do every October and April. Every line in this checklist earned its place, and some of them earned it the expensive way.
